Jogos musicais como "Guitar Hero III" e "Rock Band" são alguns dos títulos que mais tem download de conteúdo adicional. Para facilitar a vida dos jogadores, esta lista compila todas as canções extras para "Guitar Hero World Tour", nas versões para Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3 (e, com algumas restrições, para Wii).

O game recebe pacotes regularmente, cada uma delas contendo três músicas, além de "singles". Cada canção sai, usualmente, por US$ 2 (160 MS Points no Xbox 360 e 200 Wii Points no Wii) e quando estão em pacote, o conjunto de três músicas costuma sair por US$ 5,50 (440 MS Points). Álbuns completos também estão prometidos (o jogo já tem "Death Magnetic", do Metallica).

No Wii, há somente a opção de comprar as faixas individualmente (sem pode contar com o desconto na hora de comprar um pacote inteiro), por isso, pacotes como o de Jimi Hendrix, que não pode ser desmembrado, não estão disponíveis no console da Nintendo.

"Guitar Hero: World Tour" é a mais recente edição da famosa franquia musical. Lançado para Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii e PlayStation 2, este é o primeiro da série a ter microfone e controle em forma de bateria, seguindo os passos do rival "Rock Band". Os jogadores podem criar seus próprios astros do rock em um editor de personagens e competir online com até oito participantes.

Também é possível gravar suas próprias músicas e compartilhá-las através do site GHTunes. Por fim, o game conta com uma série de representações virtuais de figuras do rock de várias eras, incluindo Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Billy Corgan, Sting e Ted Nugent.
